The Zone 4 Sport Directory was created to be a resource for people in Zone 4. It contains local and provincial sport contact information. So if you are interested in a sport but don’t know where to start, the Zone 4 Sport Directory is here to help!

The Sport Directory also contains information about our organisation, the programs and services we offer and amalgamation underway with the Qu’Appelle Valley Recreation Association and the Parkland Recreation Association.

To get your free copy, contact the Zone 4 Sport Council office today.

The Zone 4 Sports Council will be merging with Parkland Recreation and the Qu’Appelle Valley Recreation Associations

Access to quality sport, culture and recreation opportunities is important to the citizens of Saskatchewan, and that’s why a review of the delivery system was conducted. Building Better Communities (BBC) was the name established for this review. The BBC recommended the current nine Zone Sport Councils and 23 Regional Recreation Associations merge to create 9 new and separate “District” organisations. These new organisations would have the common mandate of community development through sport, culture, and recreation.

As a result, the Zone 4 Sports Council will be merging with Parkland Recreation and the Qu’Appelle Valley Recreation Associations. The new District will be referred to as “Parkland Valley Sport, Culture, and Recreation District”

The three organisations held a naming contest for the new district and this was the winning entry. Connie Chaplin form Canora won with her entry and went home with a brand new TV and DVD Player.

Over the past few months, the three organisations have been meeting to compile the new organisation’s constitution. Currently, a constitution has been approved at the Transition Team level but is awaiting approval from each organisations Board. Upon approval from each Board, the constitution will be presented to each organisations members at their AGM’s or a Special Meeting of the Members for approval. This process should be completed by Fall 2007.
